I had to remove the air filter housing to get to it. I also lubricated and added a couple of washers to the gear linkage, which greatly reduced the amount of slop in the gear stick.
I drive 2008 KIA cee'd automatic which I've had since new. Last year, when attempting to reverse into a parking space, I put the car in reverse and without my touching the accelerator, the car shot backwards at such a speed that it hit the parked car behind, pushing it into a parked van. Obviously I had to admit liability and after my car was repaired I took it to the KIA dealer to check it
Choose a good gearbox oil that has a lower cold viscosity than stock . The problem became less noticable after some time (after gearbox oil change). It’s not gone, but switching from 1st to second is a lot better now. It might be that the weather is warmer now,but it’s not a huge differencez.

Now ~1000km later i have been listening it more carefully and noise comes out between 2500-3500rpm when decreasing throttle or while driving on very light load, if load goes down to engine braking or load increases, noise disappears, also at full throttle

It can be difficult to shift into first or reverse for several reasons. One common cause is a worn-out synchronizer ring which helps to synchronize gear speeds when shifting. Another reason could be a damaged hub sleeve or issues with the clutch system, such as a malfunctioning hydraulic system or low clutch fluid.
Have a word with KIA UK about this. I took my 2012 Ceed SW in for a rear door replacement under warranty (they originally denied the repair) due to the known problem with the inner frame rusting that holds the weather seal in place. Anyway, while it was in for the door inspection they did some remedial work on the sub-frame and applied sealant.
